Meet Moises Pereira

Moises Pereira – born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – is a Brazilian-American film composer, music producer, songwriter, arranger, pianist, sound designer, and filmmaker whose career spans film scoring, orchestral composition, music production, and independent filmmaking.

 

He holds a Guinness World Record for his work on the internationally acclaimed short film DOJO, which has won over 1,200 international awards and is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated live-action short films in the history of the film festival circuit. His original score for DOJO has also received international recognition, including multiple awards and nominations for Best Original Music.

 

Moises's musical education includes piano studies with Professors Aldo Ragone and Silvana Santinelli in the United States, along with orchestration and production studies under Serguei Dorochenko, whose training is rooted in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory tradition. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists, including Grammy Award–winning producer Walter Afanasieff, renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, conductor Algis Paulavicius, and musicians from the United States, Russia, Brazil, and Ukraine.

 

He has composed, arranged, and produced music for artists, media productions, churches, and broadcast projects, including work on XM Satellite Radio jingles. His expertise spans orchestral scoring, cinematic sound design, hybrid composition, recording production, and post-production for film.

 

As a filmmaker, Moises served as Executive Producer, Composer, Sound Designer, Drone Operator, Co-Producer, and co-Editor for DOJO. Beyond film, he is the creator and main host of the Pastor Moabel YouTube channel, which has more than 227,000 subscribers and over 31 million views, producing inspirational and educational content for a global audience.
